banner

The World's tallest building - Jeddah Tower, also known as the Kingdom Tower, is not only a remarkable feat of engineering but also a powerful symbol of Saudi Arabia’s economic ambitions and its transformation into a global hub. Situated in Jeddah, this giga project is poised to become the world’s tallest building, standing at over 1,000 meters tall. As the centerpiece of the larger Jeddah Economic City development, the tower promises to redefine the skyline and bring unprecedented opportunities to the region.

Visionary development and key players

The Jeddah Tower is being developed by Jeddah Economic City, a project that seeks to create a new urban area for business, luxury living, and tourism in Saudi Arabia. The tower’s construction is being led by the Saudi Binladin Group, one of the most prominent contractors in the Middle East. The architectural brilliance behind this iconic tower is the work of Adrian Smith + Gordon Gill Architecture, renowned for designing some of the tallest buildings in the world. To ensure the structural integrity of this ambitious project, consulting firms Thornton Tomasetti and Dar Al Handasah (Saudi Arabia) have been brought on board, combining global expertise with regional know-how.

Project scope and features

Once completed, the Jeddah Tower will reach an astonishing height of over 1,000 meters, making it the tallest structure on the planet. The 168-floor mixed-use tower will span 530,000 square meters and offer a blend of residential, commercial, and recreational spaces.

  • The tower will house office space, providing a world-class environment for businesses seeking to establish a presence in Saudi Arabia’s expanding economy.
  • A luxury hotel managed by Four Seasons will feature 200 high-end rooms, catering to both business and leisure travelers.
  • The tower will also include 121 luxury serviced apartments, offering breathtaking views and first-class amenities.
  • For permanent residents, there will be 500 residential apartments, along with retail space and an iconic observation deck that will likely become a major tourist attraction.

Project progress and milestones

The journey of the Jeddah Tower began in April 2013, when construction officially kicked off. After some delays, the project resumed in March 2020 and remobilization efforts gained momentum in June 2022, signaling renewed commitment to completing this ambitious undertaking. As of now, the project stands at 76% completion, with significant progress
made on the tower’s structure as of October 2023.

The next major milestone is expected by June 2028, when the tower is scheduled for completion. Once finished, Jeddah Tower will stand as a testament to Saudi Arabia’s vision for the future—a symbol of innovation, luxury, and ambition.

Transforming the skyline and the region

More than just a building, the Jeddah Tower is a catalyst for growth in Jeddah and the broader region. As the focal point of Jeddah Economic City, this giga project will attract investments, tourism, and talent from across the world. Its towering presence will redefine the city's
skyline and become an iconic symbol of the Kingdom’s vision for sustainable growth and development, in line with the goals of Vision 2030.

The Jeddah Tower is more than just a record-breaking structure; it is a beacon of
Saudi Arabia's future, a sign of its growing role on the world stage, and an inspiration to all
who strive to build higher and dream bigger.
