Six Senses Amaala in Saudi Arabia will offer a range of accommodation options that cater to diverse guest preferences

Saudi Arabia will open Six Senses Amaala in its efforts to become the fastest-growing tourism destination in the G20. Covering over 1,600 square miles (4,155 square kilometers) within a nature reserve, Amaala boasts coastal scenery, mountains, white-sand beaches, and coral reefs.

Its strategic location allows for easy accessibility from major regional hubs such as Riyadh, Dubai, and Istanbul, while major cities like Paris, Rome, Berlin, and Mumbai are just a six-hour journey away.

Six Senses Amaala, a resort, will offer a range of accommodation options that cater to diverse guest preferences. The beachfront residences, hillside villages, and villas lining the private mangrove bay will be available for bookings. Designed by architects U+A and Studio Carter, the resort drew inspiration from the region’s traditional coastal villages.

Six Senses Amaala: A coastal haven of Luxury, wellness, and Exploration

Featuring 64 rooms, six suites, 30 villas, and 25 branded residences, Six Senses Amaala will showcase views of the Hijaz Cove and the Red Sea from its location along Amaala’s Triple Bay area.

The resort’s design takes advantage of the landforms, with meandering streets and paths leading to plazas that offer glimpses of The Pura Cove and its blue lagoons.

At the heart of the site stands Mesa, characterized by its overhangs and caves that reveal fossilized corals and mollusks.

The village in the northern section of Six Senses Amaala features the beaches of Hijaz Cove, a beach restaurant, a family pool, and branded residences.

To the south, the village features natural rock pools, secluded beaches, and a mangrove boardwalk that provides access to the resort’s spa in a private cove.

The spa offers a range of facilities, which includes a cryotherapy chamber, longevity clinic, thermal areas for both men and women with Finnish and infrared saunas, herbal steam rooms, salt rooms, vitality pools, and ice baths.

Guests can also take advantage of the Watsu pool, sound dome, yoga platform, and multi-sensory relaxation areas, all aimed at providing restoration and reconnection.

Six Senses Amaala aims to provide a holistic experience based on three pillars: wellness and sports, arts and culture, and sea, sun, and lifestyle, the statement said.

Guests can explore the coffee roastery, bakery, water bar, and shisha tea house. The resort will also feature clubs for kids and teens, prayer rooms, communal lounges, a range of activities, and also plenty of dining options.

Neil Jacobs, CEO of Six Senses, expressed the brand’s shared commitment to arts and culture, wellness, and environmental preservation.

“Six Senses Amaala is part of a holistic hub for the arts, a leading diving destination, an extension of the Mediterranean yachting corridors, and an integrated wellness community, all of which we hope inspires guests to embark on transformative personal journeys,” he said.

Environmental sustainability is also a cornerstone of the resort’s construction and operational practices.

With a dedicated desalination plant that has zero impact on the coral reefs, a ban on single-use plastics, and the utilization of wastewater and organic waste for agriculture, Six Senses Amaala strives to minimize its ecological footprint.

The resort’s energy requirements will be met through renewable sources, aligning with its goal of achieving a zero carbon footprint.

The development also places great importance on conserving the marine and coastal ecosystem as it aspires to become a top diving and yachting destination.

John Pagano, Group CEO of Red Sea Global, the developer behind Amaala, expressed his delight in partnering with the iconic Six Senses brand, citing shared values and the brand’s exceptional operational quality.

“This announcement also comes at an exciting time as we are close to welcoming the first guests to Six Senses Southern Dunes, The Red Sea, which will open in the coming months. Our growing relationship with the Six Senses brand across our expanding portfolio reflects our belief in the quality of operations they bring to every property, and our shared commitment to protecting and enhancing the environment,” he said.

Six Senses Amaala is set to open as part of the first phase of the Triple Bay development.
